Vernors Cake for a Hometown #SundaySupper

There are a few things that scream Michigan to me. Cherries fresh from the tree in July,  Whitefish from the shores of Lake Superior, Apples and all things apple crisp in the Fall, and of course Vernors Ginger Ale all year round. Continue reading

On the Go Guacamole for a Back to School #SundaySupper

Two weeks… that is all we really have left of Summer Vacation. Two short little weeks. . . I can hear the panic in my kids voices as they count down the days. My boys are a mix of excitement. No one likes the early mornings or the homework, but they like most of their classes, love playing sports and generally all the social aspects of school.  Our Cat is probably the most excited though, she likes all the bags. Cat in a Bag Continue reading

Lemon Thyme Ice Pops #SundaySupper

It is a Holiday weekend. Lots of fun to be had. The heat of July and August are sure to be on the way… right? We actually spent the 4th bundled into sweatshirts to watch the fireworks. It was chilly down by the lake, but it was beautiful. There is just something magical in a small town festival. Parades, picnics, swimming in a lake and of course fireworks. Continue reading

BBQ Chicken Nacho #SundaySupper

Happy Father’s Day! Today is a day that we celebrate the men in our lives, fathers, grandpas, husbands… What better way to show our appreciation than food?!  It has been said that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Knowing the men and boys in my life, there is some merit in that statement.

Giambotta an Italian Stew {for #SundaySupper with #GalloFamily}

Meals have a way of bringing people closer together. There is nothing like a large gathering of family and friends. Enticing smells wafting through the house are a beacon to the kitchen. There may  be someone sneaking a taste or simply wondering when dinner will be ready.  More often than not, the kitchen trespassers stick around for conversation. At my home, the kitchen is definitely the heart of our home. We gather around our small island or lean against a counter while just enjoying being together.

Cheesy Ham and Potato Bake { #SundaySupper and #FamilyDinnerTable }

One of my family’s most favorite of ingredients is cheese. We like them all. Sharp cheddar to delicate mozzarella, the flavors can be so versatile and compliment just about any dish. Really, can there ever be too much cheese? Continue reading

Apple Pie Pancakes

We love pancakes at my house. They are a great way to kick off a Saturday. Easy to whip together and fill bellies for a while. Today was no exception. My boys had friends over for the night so I had extra bellies to fill. Pancakes it was. My youngest loves all things carrot cake and for special days, he always requests carrot cake pancakes. They had been on my mind, but I wanted to try something else. Today, I experiments and fell in love with Apple Pie Pancakes. Yumm-o! Continue reading

Chardonnay Seafood Sauce with Linguine {Sauce It Up #SundaySupper}

It has been such a busy week to say the least.  My oldest boy attended his first formal dance and my youngest played in his last youth football game. Milestones this mama took time to enjoy. It is surreal to me some days that my babies truly are growing up. Then of course, there was a mid week trip to the emergency room because the oldest broke his finger at school. He is set and mending well, if not bothered by the splint.  Never boring around the ol’homestead.  Continue reading
