Bucket List of Moments Updated

Just over a month ago, after life threw my family, my friends, my community a curve ball, I sat down and wrote out a bucket list. My list is all about moments. I want to have experiences, build relationships, see the magic in this world. GO ON ADVENTURES!  Continue reading

Bucket List of Experiences 2017

Timing. They say, timing is everything. The last seven days, timing has been a theme. It started with an email asking what my 2017 bucket list would be and ended with the funeral of my children’s friend. Timing… they say is everything.  Continue reading

Fall In My Neck of the World

Barns and TreesSummer is such a busy time for my family. The kids are all involved in something and I am the type that does not like to miss a thing. It is hard to remember to stop and smell the roses so to speak. This year was no different. I let life lead me instead of me leading my life. I got wrapped up in the day to day and forgot to just be still. To stop and enjoy moments. I need to get back to basics. Dial it back and remember to enjoy each moment for what they are worth. You don’t get these days back.  Continue reading

The Great Parenting Experiment

This past week has marked the end of summer vacation for me. I was back at school, copying papers, decorating bulletin boards, connecting with an awesome team of people who are excited for the 2015-2016 school year. I am lucky and work with people who inspire me everyday. They inspire me to make a difference in the lives of children. It is an enormous task. One that weighs on each and every member of our school. I work in an elementary school, so the students I get to interact with daily are still quite young. It is a polar opposite from my home and volunteer life.  Continue reading

I’m Still here… There and Everywhere

It seems that I have lost myself in posting on other sites and have neglected my very own page. What was I thinking?! But, in reality that happens. Life gets busy and things get pushed around. I love to write. What started as a hobby, a bit of a jump to the “wild side” has truly become a passion. So why did I let this go? As a mom, it is easy to put what is important to me aside and throw myself into what is important to my family. Hey, I recognize it, totally owning it up here. I became short sited. Continue reading

2014 Year End

Ahhhh, Coffee, the nectar of the Gods. I am sipping my first cup this morning and reminiscing about all the great things that happened in 2014. My life is full and I am truly blessed. Family, friends, work, writing, life in general, I have found that at 35 I lead a pretty awesome life. No, I am not perfect, far from it, but I choose to be happy and that choice makes all the difference in the world. Money, sure, we could make more of it, but instead, I enjoy cultivating relationships. Relationships with people are far more important than the monetary things I may leave behind one day. My Latest Adventures

It is hard to believe that I have not posted on my own blog since August 17th. Shame on me. I love writing, it is one of the ways that I get to express myself creatively and share with my friends, family and followers all that I have been up to. It is therapeutic to write.  Continue reading

On the Go Guacamole for a Back to School #SundaySupper

Two weeks… that is all we really have left of Summer Vacation. Two short little weeks. . . I can hear the panic in my kids voices as they count down the days. My boys are a mix of excitement. No one likes the early mornings or the homework, but they like most of their classes, love playing sports and generally all the social aspects of school.  Our Cat is probably the most excited though, she likes all the bags. Cat in a Bag Continue reading

Summer Thoughts

Summer Vacation… just those two little words can bring out so many emotions. Hot days, cool nights, a long stretch of freedom. No alarm clocks, no deadlines. Summer Vacation is the stuff of childhood dreams and as an adult who works in education, I am one of the lucky few to get to enjoy it.  Continue reading

Embracing A New Phase

Dear Great Grandchildren,

Last Night I attended a Middle School Orientation with my youngest boy. It seems like yesterday I was taking his older brother there. Shoot, if I am being honest, it seems like yesterday my parents were taking me to Middle School Orientation. It is cliche, I know, but really where does the time go?
